GENERAL INFO ABOUT THE VENUE OF THE II CONVENTION
The University of Rome Tor Vergata is at the outskirts of Rome in an area
called “Anagnina / Tor Vergata / La Romanina”. The direct
metro going into the campus has unfortunately not been finished yet, which
means you will have to take the Metro up to the last Station (Anagnina),
then the bus (n.20) to the Hotel (and in the following days to the Faculty
of Economics, it’s the same one).
PRACTICAL DETAILS AND IMPORTANT WORNINGS FOR THE
3RD OF JULY
The official opening of the II Convention will take place – as
from the programme – at 16.00 at the Camera dei Deputati. It is
a high honour to be able to gather there but, as you may imagine there
are a number of safety and formal rules that have to be respected:
• In order to be admitted into the Camera girls have to be properly
dressed and guys HAVE to wear a JACKET and a TIE. There is NO exception
to this rule.
• You will also need a valid document with photo for identification.
No big bags allowed into the Camera.
• The entrance at the Camera dei Deputati is strictly from 15.15
to 15.45 (3.15pm-3.45pm). You have to get to the main
entrance within that time lapse. Those arriving later will meet the
rest of the group at the Campidoglio at 18.30(6.30pm) for the reception
on the Campidoglio terrace.
• The badge has to be carried on at all times: no badge no entrance
(including in the following days access to the University building,
lunches and dinners, parties etc)

How to get to Hotel Ibis (and the University):
- From Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci Airport): inside the airport there
is a train service taking downtown. There are two alternatives.
- Get the express train to the main Train Station (“Stazione
Termini”) which costs about 8 Euro, then you need a normal
metro-bus ticket, which costs 0.77 Euro to go from Termini to the
hotel. From Termini take the Metro A (red line) to Anagnina (end
station) then the “20 express” bus (look for ATAC lines,
departure from track 12), direction Tor Bella Monaca and get off
at the second to the last stop.
- A cheaper and faster alternative is to get the regional train
to the Station “Roma Tuscolana”. From there there is
a 2 minutes walk up the hill to the Metro station “Ponte Lungo”.
From Ponte Lungo follow the instructions as above (is on the Metro
line A, too).
- From Ciampino Airport: there is a COTRAL bus service which costs about
1.20 Euro taking you to Anagnina, then you need an ATAC ticket (0.77Euro)
to take the “20 express” bus (look for ATAC lines, departure
from track 12), direction Tor Bella Monaca and get off at the second
to the last stop.
- From the main Railway station “Stazione Termini”: take
the Metro A (red line) to Anagnina (end station) then the “20
express” bus (look for ATAC lines, departure from track 12), direction
Tor Bella Monaca and get off at the second to the last stop. You need
a normal metro-bus ticket, which costs 0.77 Euro.
How to get to the Campidoglio:
- From the main Railway station “Stazione Termini”: You
need a normal metro-bus ticket, which costs 0.77 Euro to go from Termini
to the Campidoglio. From Termini take the bus n 84, outside the station,
for 8 stops, and get off at Piazza Venezia/Campidoglio
- From Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci Airport): there is a train service
to the Train Station (Termini) which costs about 8 Euro, then you need
a normal metro-bus ticket, which costs 0.77 Euro to go from Termini
to the Campidoglio. From Termini take the bus n 84, as above
- From Ciampino Airport: there is a COTRAL bus service which costs about
1.20 Euro taking you to Anagnina, then you need an ATAC ticket (0.77Euro)
to take the Metro A (red line) to Termini and then the bus n 84 as above.
How to reach the Metro A station “Anagnina” from
the Hotel and the University and viceversa
The Metro station, the Faculty of Economics and Hotel Ibis are linked
by the bus “20 express” direction “Tor Bella Monaca”.
At Anagnina (the metro terminal) the bus leaves from track 12. It runs
every 5 min from 05.30 to 24.00. Outside these hours, should you lose
the special bus service organized after each event, there is a night bus
(50N) that goes from Termini to the hotel.
How to get the Hotel and the University to the Centre of Rome
and viceversa
Get the bus “20 express” to the Metro stop Anagnina (see above)
and then the Metro to Termini. Then take the buses 84 or 64 to Campidoglio.
